TYPES OF FIREWORKS
The quality and price of fireworks will vary depending upon the Supplier and Category of fireworks. Generally, fireworks in the UK have been divided into categories that govern their supply, handling, storage, transport and use. There are 4 categories:
- Category 1: indoor fireworks.
- Category 2: Required safety distance of 5 metres to be observed.
- Category 3: Required safety distance of 25 metres to be observed.
- Category 4: Only to be used by Explosives Factories.

SELECTION BOXES – These comprise of a variety of the fireworks mentioned above. Again these can vary in size. The larger the selection box, the greater the variety, and quality of fireworks.
ROCKETS – We offer a variety of these, ranging from entry-level rockets, which just produce a variety of colours and effects, to top of the range products that produce thunderous reports and bright flashes.
ROMAN CANDLES – Again these fireworks vary in style and effects. In general, they produce flames and bursting effects, accompanied with crackling flashes and loud reports.
FOUNTAINS – These are ground fireworks that shoot up crackling effects, produce fountains of sparks, but do not normally bang.
WHEELS – These rotate, sending out circular spirals of flame and sparks. These need to be nailed to a wooden support.
SHOT CAKES – These are usually small single ignition fireworks, producing from 20 – 50 different aerial reports, accompanied by varying colours and special effects. Shot cakes also vary in size. Heavy Duty Cakes for example, can produce up to 250 different sounds and effects.
SPARKLERS – These can be purchased in a variety of sizes – small, large and monster. Coloured sparklers are also available.
